Guided by Nature, Validated by Science
Dedicated to scientific validation
While we always look to Nature, first, to guide us in the formulation of our products, we rely just as heavily on modern science to validate their effectiveness and to seek out even greater discoveries in natural nourishment and health.
The New Chapter Scientific Team
Our scientific team consists of some of the world’s most respected scientific minds, covering multiple disciplines including both traditional and naturopathic medicine, integrative medicine, urology, biology, biochemistry, agriculture and nutrition.
New Chapter Research Partners
Our scientific partners include many of the world’s most respected scientists, from research institutions like Columbia University, The Cleveland Clinic, and the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. We think that says a lot about our commitment to scientific validation and discovery.
A breakthrough philosophy
We selected New Chapter as our company name for one simple reason: We believe every one of our products should deliver a ‘new chapter’ in nourishment, protection or health. At New Chapter, if a product can’t make a genuine contribution or a breakthrough, we won’t make it at all.

Dr. Robert Newman, Ph.D.
"I think that it is correct to say that New Chapter and I found each other. I was looking for a way to extract a potential plant based anticancer product and the company was interested in exploring novel ways of treating inflammation. I have always sought new therapeutic solutions to complex research problems that apply to prevention and control of disease; this goal fits well with the mission, vision and philosophy of New Chapter which is a company aimed at bringing novel and exciting healthcare products to the marketplace. Their genuine desire to explore and understand the science behind their products and its importance with respect to optimally developing products of value for mankind is both admirable and highly unusual in the greater nutraceutical world. I am extremely proud of my collaborative association with this fine company."
Dr. Robert A. Newman received his undergraduate training at the University of Rhode Island and graduate training at the University of Connecticut where he obtained MS and Ph.D. degrees in pharmacology and toxicology. Postgraduate work in molecular pharmacology and cell biology was done at the Medical School of Georgia and at the University of Vermont Medical School. After a sabbatical at Stanford University in 1983, Dr. Newman joined the faculty of the University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center (MDACC). His career at MDACC included development of a state of the art mass spectrometry analytical laboratory, creation of a clinical pharmacology service, a Phase 1 clinical center as well as a Pharmaceutical Development Center which had the capability of bringing drugs from the chemist's bench to the patient's bedside. While at MDACC, Dr. Newman held the position of Professor of Experimental Therapeutics and held the endowed chair D.B. Lane Professorship for Cancer Research. He is the author of over 300 peer-reviewed publications in medical journals and several books. His personal research focus at the University of Texas involved investigation of the role of inflammation as an etiologic factor and driving force behind the development and progression of cancer.
Dr. Newman retired from academia in 2008 and now focuses his time and effort on studies of the efficacy of nutraceuticals for the prevention of disease and promotion of human health. He now serves as the Chief Science Officer for NewChapter, Inc. (Brattleboro, VT) and as a consultant for companies such as Salient Pharmaceuticals (College Station, TX), Coastside Bioscience (Stonington, ME) and Phoenix Biotechnology (San Antonio, TX). He continues to be involved in development of his own drug derived from Nerium oleander for the treatment of solid tumors and certain neurodegenerative diseases. He now resides on the coast of Maine, is involved with local environmental issues and looks for excuses to go sailing.
