Roberta Lee, M.D. is the Medical Director, Director of Medical Education and Co-Director of the Fellowship in Integrative Medicine at the Continuum Center for Health and Healing at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York. Dr. Lee received her Doctorate of Medicine from George Washington University in 1985 and completed her internal medicine residency at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C.
In addition, she annually conducts research with specialists in ethnobotany, ecology and conservation from The New York Botanical Garden and The National Tropical Garden of Hawaii in Micronesia. Her research is focused on recording the medicinal uses of plants by traditional healers. She was one of the first graduates of the Integrative Medicine Program at the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center directed by Dr. Andrew Weil.
Dr. Lee regularly lectures on a variety of topics including The Integrative Use of Botanical Medicine, The Integrative Approach to Medical Care and Its Financial Impact, Optimizing Your Health – a Preventive Approach and more. Dr. Lee has published a variety of articles in publications such as Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine, Alternative Medicine Alert and The Journal of Ethnobotany. She is the co-editor of a text entitled Integrative Medicine: Principles for Practice. She is currently a contributing editor on the journal, Explore: The journal of Science and Healing and an advisory board member of the American Botanical Council.
