"I think that it is correct to say that New Chapter and I found each other. I was looking for a way to extract a potential plant based anticancer product and the company was interested in exploring novel ways of treating inflammation. I have always sought new therapeutic solutions to complex research problems that apply to prevention and control of disease; this goal fits well with the mission, vision and philosophy of New Chapter which is a company aimed at bringing novel and exciting healthcare products to the marketplace. Their genuine desire to explore and understand the science behind their products and its importance with respect to optimally developing products of value for mankind is both admirable and highly unusual in the greater nutraceutical world. I am extremely proud of my collaborative association with this fine company."

While at MDACC, Dr. Newman held the position of Professor of Experimental Therapeutics and held the endowed chair D.B. Lane Professorship for Cancer Research. He is the author of over 300 peer-reviewed publications in medical journals and several books. His personal research focus at the University of Texas involved investigation of the role of inflammation as an etiologic factor and driving force behind the development and progression of cancer.
Dr. Newman retired from academia in 2008 and now focuses his time and effort on studies of the efficacy of nutraceuticals for the prevention of disease and promotion of human health.
