Taking Action, Creating Change
Since we started New Chapter in 1982, we’ve been actively involved in promoting both social awareness and change in many areas that are dear to our hearts and important to the world as a whole. Take a moment to discover what we do to support a clean earth, sustainability, biodynamics, organic agriculture and organic nourishment, through action and philanthropy here at home and around the world.

Committed To A Clean Earth
Here’s a snapshot of what we’re doing, both big and small, to create a clean earth:
Luna Nueva
New Chapter’s 200-acre organic ginger farm is a world model for sustainability. Biodynamic and Demeter-certified, it is truly a thing of purity and beauty, and an excellent example of our eco-commitment in action. We invite you to learn more about Luna Nueva, check out our Luna Nueva video or view our gallery of photos.
Children’s Eternal Rainforest
We are actively involved in The Children’s Eternal Rainforest, a protected, 54,000-acre private reserve located in the Tilarán mountain range in northwestern Costa Rica. It has become the largest private reserve in Central America.
Sacred Seeds
Sacred Seeds, or Semillas Sagradas as it is called in Costa Rica, is a seed sanctuary for endangered medicinal herbs. New Chapter works with the indigenous communities and Costa Rican ethnobotanists to maintain and grow this very unique sanctuary.
Committed To Organics
New Chapter is major proponent of an organic world. This commitment is most evident in our products and at our organic farm in Costa Rica. Here’s just a few of the partners we work with to support the shift to organic agriculture and nourishment.

We support organizations like The Organic Center to fund research on the benefits of organic. And we work with groups like The Conscious Goods Alliance, Whole Planet Foundation and International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements to promote the shift to organics at home and around the globe.
Committed to Sustainability & Biodynamics
At New Chapter, we believe in sustainable business practices and organic, sustainable, biodynamic agriculture. It’s a commitment that permeates every part of our business, from the compost containers in every corner of our office to our sustainable, biodynamic, Demeter-certified ginger and turmeric farm in Costa Rica. Here’s some of the organizations we work with to support the movement toward greater sustainability.

Committed to Philanthropy
Caring is at the core of who we are. By providing product, money, time, effort and knowledge to people in great need, New Chapter is constantly striving to make a difference. Here are some of the organizations we are proud to be assisting.
Yayasan Bumi Sehat -- Bali, Indonesia
Recognizing a massive need for prenatal care, nutrition and education following the 2002 and 2005 terrorist bombings in Bali, we have helped humanitarians and Vermont midwives Katherine Bramhall and Robin Lim stock their free prenatal clinic, Yayasan Bumi Sehat, with lifesaving prenatal vitamins. We have now committed to be the sole supplier of prenatal vitamins to the clinic, assuring that the Balinese women who rely on Yayasn Bumi Sehat will never, ever be in need of prenatal vitamins again.

Medical Research
New Chapter supports clinical research at institutions such as Columbia University, The Cleveland Clinic Foundation, The M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and Beth Israel Medical Center to advance complementary medicine.
Vermont FEED
Vermont FEED, which stands for Food Education Every Day, offers education resources that support students in making healthy and responsible food choices.
Strolling of the Heifers
This wonderful organization increases the public’s awareness of how family farms contribute to the local community, Vermont’s agricultural landscape, as well as heritage and society overall.
Genetic Engineering Action Group
As part of our commitment to an organic world, we support this group’s mission to halt the release of genetically engineered organisms into the environment and food supply.
Encouraging Our People To Give
The people of New Chapter love to give and we love to help. That’s why we match each employee’s donation to an approved 501 (c) (3), up to $100 a year.
